The Prague Philharmonic Choir together with the tenorist of world renown Pavel Černoch will introduce their purely Czech programme, that the Prague Philharmonic Choir prepared for their “American” concert tour commencing in a few days after this concert. A tour which will culminate at the a cappella concert in New York’s Carnegie Hall. The repertoire thus cannot lack the compositions of Bohuslav Martinů, who, as one among a few European composers, had seized the so-called New World, and whose work had been premiered by the most eminent American orchestras led by international conductors. Through the inclusion of the compositions of Petr Eben, Bohuslav Martinů and Jan Novák i.e. authors whose lives and work were afflicted by the Communist, as well as the Nazi regime, the concert thus becomes a part of the cultural events commemorating the Struggle for Freedom Day and World Students' Day.
